Overview

With a degree in architectural engineering and experience in the construction industry, Meredith brings a rare combination of technical understanding and legal acumen to her construction law practice.  She leverages this dual perspective to anticipate challenges, craft practical solutions, and deliver contracts and counsel that align with both legal requirements and operational realities. Known for her meticulous attention to detail and drive to master the issues at hand, Meredith balances accuracy with efficiency—setting clients and their projects up for success.

As a member of the transactions team, Meredith drafts construction contracts and consultant agreements, researches key areas of law, manages close-out disputes, and offers general strategic support. She also advises governmental entities, including water authorities and special utility districts, on procurement matters, where she enjoys navigating the complex statutory frameworks that govern public construction projects and the technical depth they require.

A native Austinite, Meredith stayed local for her undergraduate education, earning dual bachelor’s degrees from the University of Texas at Austin (UT)—a B.A. in Plan II Honors and a B.S. in Architectural Engineering (with coursework covering project management, geotechnical engineering, concrete design, construction estimation and scheduling, building materials, and MEP systems). Her building industry training extended beyond the classroom, including internships with both a local architecture firm and a regional general contractor, and a role as a preconstruction engineer for a multinational construction company.

Following her time in the construction industry, Meredith attended Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia, where she received a Merit Scholarship, served as Articles Editor of the Emory Law Journal, and interned for the Honorable Catherine M. Salinas, Magistrate Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. After graduating from Emory Law with honors, Meredith returned to Austin and joined Allensworth in 2022.

In her free time, Meredith looks for any opportunity to learn something new, be it through reading, watching documentaries, or listening to audiobooks and podcasts. She and her husband, Thanos, also try to spend as much of their time as possible traveling (particularly to Greece, to visit family) and trying new restaurants. With any remaining time, Meredith also enjoys photography, hiking, gaming, and spending time with her dog, Beau, and cat, Bella.
