Overview

Avery Bertagna is a fierce advocate who pairs unshakable confidence with honest curiosity, bringing both to every challenge she tackles with the Allensworth team. Whether assisting owners or contractors in resolving project closeout disputes, Avery stays composed under pressure and thinks strategically on her feet – her meticulous preparation means she’s already anticipated every angle before it becomes an issue.

While at UT Austin, a chance encounter with a pre-law organization led Avery to Texas Tech University School of Law. She built her legal foundation through wide-ranging experiences in criminal and civil court work, civil litigation, and intellectual property matters, all while traveling and competing on national mock trial teams. Her exceptional advocacy skills earned her induction into the Order of the Barristers, a national honor reserved for the most accomplished graduates demonstrating outstanding ability in oral argument and brief writing. This distinction, combined with her breadth of experience, honed a multifaceted approach to high-stakes disputes – one that translates seamlessly to construction litigation.

Avery was drawn to Allensworth not only for the complexity of construction law but for the firm’s culture of continuous learning, which mirrors her own drive for growth. Colleagues know her as a go-getter and problem solver with an undeniable work ethic. In a field that never stops changing, Avery never stops adapting. As a result, she is a formidable adversary who relentlessly uncovers game-changing details, while clients experience her sincere, personal investment in every matter.

Beyond her own professional development, Avery invests just as much energy in helping others succeed by volunteering to judge and coach national mock trial teams. Outside the legal realm, you’ll find her exploring the great outdoors with her two dogs – a lab and border collie – while simultaneously planning her next adventure abroad.
