Congratulations to Allensworth attorney Karly Houchin for her remarkable service to our community as the ULI Austin Young Leaders Chair from September 2020 through June 2023.

She not only served as Chair, but also received the prestigious Young Leader of the Year Award in 2021. Karly’s dedication and contributions to this organization have been outstanding, and we couldn’t be prouder of her accomplishments.

Service and Dedication:

As the ULI Austin Young Leaders Chair, Karly was responsible for managing and leading the Young Leaders Committee, overseeing the planning of monthly events, and spearheading the mentorship program for ULI Austin members who are 35 and under.
During her tenure, Karly organized several noteworthy events that brought immense value to the ULI Austin community. These events included project tours of iconic landmarks such as the Moody Center, Q2 Stadium, Indeed Tower, the new Google building, and the Capitol Complex. Additionally, she facilitated insightful panel discussions on a range of topics including urban golf courses, capital markets, homelessness, meeting new City Council members, inflation and construction costs, and the history of development in Austin. Innovation and What’s Next:

Karly’s innovative approach to the Young Leader programming was evident through the introduction of new traditions. She established an annual event to recognize and honor Black History Month, celebrating diversity and inclusion within the real estate industry. Furthermore, she initiated an annual community service event, emphasizing the importance of giving back to the local community.

Although her term as Chair has come to an end, Karly’s commitment to ULI Austin remains strong. She will continue to serve as a committee member, leveraging her expertise and experience to further the mission and vision of the Young Leaders Committee.
