The City of Austin issued supplemental guidance based on Executive Order No. GA-14 today. The City has clarified its prior positions and will allow all construction work permitted in the Governor’s March 31, 2020 Executive Order (No. GA-14). See our analysis of GA-14 here.  In providing this supplemental guidance, the City of Austin stated that it will no longer prohibit commercial or residential construction projects.  Travis County has not yet released similar guidance.

Now that construction is no longer prohibited by the City of Austin and projects will come back online, it remains important for all safety and health requirements to be followed. The supplemental guidance from the City of Austin includes employer requirements for all construction sites within the City that have more than 10 active workers at any given time.

We will continue monitoring developments. Please visit www.allensworthlaw.com/news, which will be updated as more information comes to light.
